Basis of the edition

The present edition is based on the photographs available at the Mainzer Photoarchiv of the Hethitologie Portal Mainz, as well as the available hand-copies and relevant secondary literature up to 2019. When the original manuscripts have been collated, this is noted in the commentary.

Commentary

Noteworthy in this fragment are the mention of a Muwatalli (probably king Muwatalli II, line 5′) and the presence of descriptions of cult images. The geographical setting of the inventory is most likely to be found in the northern provinces.

3′: For town Zikkapara (provided the reading is correct; not booked in the Index of KBo 52) cf. the town Zigaballa, in the area of Nerik.

6′: For the town Zinkuri see KBo 52 VII no. 94.
